AFO Province

In the seven countries of the “Mother of God” Province (AFO) of West Africa, each educating community seeks every day to care for the lives of children, youth and young people in schools, oratories and vocational centers by educating them in human and Gospel values. Special care is given to girls in distressed situations. We live and transmit hope through our daily prayer, effective presence, quality educational offerings and closeness to families in distress or bereaved. Seeing children, youth/young people grow up; seeing them being able to attend school; some young people changing their lives; being able to reintegrate a girl into the family; offering a space for play and humanizing manual activities, these are for us signs of hope. But also to be able to respond positively to requests made by some bishops to have our presence in their dioceses, is for our province a sign of growth and hope for the joy of seeing the Salesian charism radiate into new contexts. Like a good gardener, amidst joys and sacrifices, we want to continue taking care of life in its various dimensions, aware that Jesus Christ, our hope, urges us to continue our educational journey that we entrust to the intercession of Mary Help of Christians.
